Edwin Rowland Obituary
Edwin Lee "Eddie" Rowland was born March 21, 1927, in Longview, Texas. He passed away at the age of 84 on March 5, 2012, in Gilmer.
Mr. Rowland had been a resident of Longview all of his life. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and worked as a dispatcher at East Texas Motor Freight.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Rowland and Nobie L. Woodall Rowland; and siblings, Sally Butler, Dorothy Dodson and Floyd Rowland.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Rowland of Longview; 10 children and their spouses, Patricia Rowland of Longview, Teri and Ron Witt of White Oak, Monica and Robert Townsend of Gladewater, Ken and Mary Rowland of Slidell, La., Brett and Barb Rowland of Gladewater, Steve and Alett Kennedy of Tyler, Stephanie and Ray Poole of Gilmer, Sharon and Tory Smith of Longview, Sam and Tisa Kennedy of Tyler and Susy and Doug Rosonke of Gladewater; two siblings, Doug Rowland of Gladewater and Ethel Cunningham of Diana; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was greatly loved and will be forever missed.

Grandpa, I truly enjoyed living with you and Grandma for the past 12 months. I feel like I got to know you in a way I would not have otherwise. I will never forget spending time with you on the front porch listening to your stories. Your memory will live on and we will someday be reunited. Until then, I'll keep an eye on Grandma! Love you!

Aunt Joy, you know how I feel about Uncle Eddie. He was also my good friend. I am so sorry for your families loss Eddie will definitely be missed by a lot of people. Love you, Johnny Ray & Gail.

I love you Uncle Eddie. I hope that you and Mama and Aunt Dot and Floyd are all together in heaven. I remember all the good times when we were growing up. It was the best.
