I will always remember my Auntie Eilean with a smile on her face and twinkle in her eye. She seemed to always have a plan and when you joined her for the ride, you were sure to have a lot of laughs along the way. Auntie Eilean was always ready with a helping hand and witty reply. I will miss her visits - her many trips driving to Vancouver to make the rounds; us going to Edmonton to spend time at the lake with them; staying at their place and traveling all around with our Auntie Eilean at the wheel! My most special memory is of her and Yeandle making the trip to my wedding in the summer of 2007. She was always a great support of her friends and family. We will miss her very much.

Stuart and I have many happy memories,
in happy times and sad Eilean was
beside us. Stuart loved doing the odd chores, his can of beer while they
corrected the Eskie and Oilers problems and dinner out for all of us.
We will miss Hatch very much. Our
thoughts are with all of you.

Reading the other entries in this book makes me sad that I didn't know her better. She was my dad's second cousin and I am sure they had social interactions there in Edmonton but having left home and going to college in the USA I never in my adult life had a chance to meet her until 2008 at my father's funeral. Her smile was infectious and I knew she was a great person to be around. My condolences to the family.

Eilean took a special interest in each and everyone of us. She was always there in good times and bad supporting and loving us all. Her special smile and contageous laugh will always be in our memory. She was indeed the best tour guide Jasper National Park ever had. We were hard pressed to keep up with her never ending energy supply. And we will never forget all of the fun times as children. Who can forget having their bed shortsheeted by Auntie Eilean. We will miss the birthday and Xmas cards. She never forgot and she added new family members to her list as they came along. We are so sad at her passing but will always remember with joy her unconditional love.

Eileen was not only family, but a true friend to us all. We will miss the bets back and forth when the canucks were playing the oilers or when the oilers were playing the flames,we had a card filled with pennies that went back and forth between our homes to pay off the bet. Eileen usually would win. Eileen had a smile that would light up a room and was always there when help was needed, or there to join in a celebration. She has touched many generations with her love and she will be missed by all of us and remembered always.

One of the best tour guides for Edmonton and the Rockies, a naturalist, an activist for causes close to her heart, an avid sports fan, generous and genuine...Hatch was all this and more to our family over the years. We have many fond memories and so Eilean lives on in our hearts. Our sincere condolances go out to Hatch's family and to our Aunt Ilene.

Auntie Eilean - You sparkled. Whenever you walked into a room - it lit up with your vibrant and cheeky personality. No one who met you will ever forget you. You are missed!!

I have many wonderful memories of time spent with Hatch, a true "character with character." She loved adventure and lively discussion and was a fine example of loyalty to her family, friends, sports teams, city, province and country. She always took great interest in the lives of those around her. Hatch will be greatly missed, but she has left a strong legacy.

I always felt like "Hatch" adopted our family and we adopted her. Our trips west were always well planned, filled with laughter, adventure and a glove box full of lifesavers! She will be missed.

"Aunt Hatch" meant a lot to me as I was growing up. I am very saddened by her passing. I remember spending time with Aunt Ilene and her out at the lake. I appreciate all she did for the family and in particular my Aunt Ilene. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

We know that Eilene's passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of all those who knew her. Hold tight to memories for comfort, lean on your friends for strength, and always remember how much you are cared about.

Janet and I were saddened to hear of Eilean's passing. As a child I have fond memories of camping and hiking in the Rockies with Eilean as our guide. She was quick with her wit and even quicker with a smile. Our memories will last a lifetime. May she rest in peace.
Sincerely,
John & Janet Yeandle
