Elizabeth "Katie" Perkins

BLUEFIELD — Elizabeth "Katie" Perkins, 44, of Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C.Born September 13, 1964, in Mullens, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ruth (Earls) Saunders, Sr.Katie served as a secretary for the Environmental Protection Agency in Durham, N.C. She was a member of the Hillsborough Pentecostal Church in Hillsborough, N.C.In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chola Hawkins.She will be sadly missed by her husband, Ronnie Perkins; sons, Aaron Doughton and wife Rachael, of Bluefield, W.Va., Cody Perkins and Kyler Pulliam at home, Billy Malone of Salisbury, Md.; daughters, Tonya Hawkins, Kia Crouse and Kesha Harrington, all of Tazewell, Va.; sister, Sally Yost of Durham, N.C.; and brothers, Paul Saunders, Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Kingston, Ohio, Jesse Saunders and wife, May, of Woodbridge, Va., James Saunders and wife ,Brenda, of Albany, Ohio, Joseph Saunders and wife,Wanda, of Princeton, W.Va., and Samuel Saunders and fiancee, Wendy, of Burlington, N.C. Precious grandchildren left to cherish her memory are Ashley Harrington, Carter Lee, Caiden Hamm, Camron Hamm and Casey Crouse.Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel, Princeton, W.Va. with the Reverend Adam Frye officiating.
