Elizabeth R. Weishaupt

KINGSTON- Elizabeth Weishauptf of Warren Street, Kingston, passed away peacefully at home. She was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who adored her. Born in Kingston Oct. 15, 1927, a daughter of the late Victor and Frances (McCloskey) Ruzzo. She was a graduate of The Academy of Saint Ursula, Class of 1945. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Marymount College, Tarrytown, N.Y., in 1949. A lifelong resident of Kingston, N.Y., she was a dedicated member of St. Joseph’s Parish. She was active in the St Joseph School PTA, the John A Coleman High School PTA, the Benedictine Hospital Auxiliary, and the Marymount College Alumni Association. On May 6, 1950, she married William Joseph Weishaupt to whom she was married for over 65 years. She was a fiercely loving matriarch who devoted her life to their family. The consummate mother and grandmother she spent countless hours caring for and mentoring her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who referred to her as their “Nan". She will be forever loved and missed deeply. Surviving are her children; William J. Weishaupt Jr. and his wife Beth, daughter in law Mollie Weishaupt, Matthew A. Weishaupt lll and his wife Karen, Elizabeth Warren and her husband Jeffrey and Christopher Weishaupt and his wife Maryanne. Grandchildren: Caitlin Sanzi, Alexandra DeForest, Caroline Weishaupt, Stephanie Butler, Erin Scudder, Stephan Weishaupt, Tatum Weishaupt, Matthew A. Weishaupt, lV, Jonathon Weishaupt, Courtney Weishaupt, Jeffrey Warren, and William Joseph Weishaupt, lll. Seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by husband William J. Weishaupt, Sr. (Sept. 5, 2016); her son, Stephan F. Weishaupt (May 27, 2017); as well as three brothers, Victor Ruzzo, Jr., John Q. Ruzzo, and Joseph Ruzzo.
