Born in Turin, Italy, on Dec. 24, 1913, she is the daughter of the late Louis and Guglielmina (Isoardi) Garnero.
Elsie was a lifetime member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Freeport and worked as a nurse's aid at Allegheny Valley Hospital for 15 years.
She is survived by a son, Richard A. Carbonetti of Hyde Park; and a daughter, Noreen (John) Augustine of Ford City. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Carbonetti was the widow of Peter D. Carbonetti, who passed away in 1983. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Robert P. Carbonetti; and a sister, Laura Zendri.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. A parish wake service will take place Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 in the funeral home. A parting prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Freeport at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas Federline. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Freeport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 267 Pittsburgh Road, Butler, PA 16002.
