WHITTER - ELSIE ANN (nee HAWRYSH) Elsie Ann passed away peacefully on February 20, 2006, with her husband, George, at her side and in the companionship of her son, Arthur, and her daughter, Natalie. The illness that claimed her life came all too soon, but granted her wonderful moments with her family, Carol Priestley, Stella Kruger and Ellen Buchanan and with her brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, with whom she visited. Elsie was born at Sokal, SK on December 16, 1933. She lived on a farm in the Sokal district near Wakaw. She attended school at Bellevue and moved to Meath Park in 1949. Elsie met her future husband in May, 1954, and Elsie and George were married on August 29, 1958. There they lived a life blessed by the arrival of son Arthur George (1964) and daughter Natalie Ann (1965). The family moved to Saskatoon in 1974. Natalie married John Lobo and presented Elsie with granddaughter Caitlin (1990), for whom her affection knew no bounds. Elsie was predeceased by her infant sister, Sally; her younger sister, Sylvia, in 1954; her parents, Onufrey Hawrysh in 1965 & Anna (nee Golansky) in 1998. Elsie is survived by her loving husband and companion, George; her son, Arthur both of Saskatoon; her daughter, Natalie (John) Lobo, and her granddaughter, Caitlin of Onoway, AB; her sisters and their families: Carol (Jim) Priestley of Prince Albert, SK; Stella (Hal) Kruger of Emma Lake, SK and Ellen (Don) Buchanan of Vernon, BC; as well as nieces & nephews. The Prayer Service will be held in Prince Albert, SK on Monday, February 27, 2006 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Mackenzie's Funeral Home, 130 9th Street East. The Funeral Service will be held in Prince Albert, SK on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 1:30 PM in the St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 12th Street & 1st Avenue East, with Rev. Dr. Sandy Scott officiating. Interment of cremated remains to follow at The Columbarium at St. John's Cathedral, Saskatoon, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation toward the Saskatoon Cancer Centre, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4 or a charity of the donor's choice. Elsie's family also wishes to offer their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Rocky Bishop and to the staff of 5th Floor Med, St. Paul's Hospital, for their great care, comfort and compassion shown towards Elsie and her entire family. Arrangements have been entrusted to MacKenzie Funeral Home, Prince Albert, SK (1-888-763-8488).
