Emil was my wonderful and talented step-dad for a decade. Deepest condolences to the whole family but delighted he was was able to share his music and magical presence in what was a very full life. I still play lots of musical instruments because of him.

I remember the time that Emil and his brother Richard had saved up money to buy bandstands for their 13-piece orchestra. When they played with Elvis at one of his early performances, the screaming girls rushed the stage and broke up the new bandstands. My cousin Emil, who of course had the Cozzie prominent Italian nose, said "Look at me! Would you bust up a bandstand to get near me?" We both laughed and then he got somber and told me how Elvis loved to just come over for a few minutes when Emil was quietly playing Gospel tunes in between performances. This is a good memory I have and I like to take it out once in a while and relive it. Miss you Cuz. Love Francy

One of my most happy and memorable times was when my husband and I brought my folks ( Emil's Uncle and Aunt Frank and Muriel Cozzie) to Emil's daughter's wedding. I think it was the last social event my Dad and Mom attended. Joyous time and the photo of Emil and my Dad...priceless. They looked SO much alike! Hope he's playing and singing for my folks and his in Heaven! Love, Cousin Francy

He will forever be remembered in our minds as a great husband, father, and a bigger than life personality. It was always a pleasure to be in his presence. He made you feel special. I know if Emil could have picked a way to go to his maker, telling one of his funny stories and making people laugh would have been the perfect way. He was a sweet man and a really good husband and father. I am so sorry for the great loss to his family but he will be missed by many of us who so enjoyed his singing, playing and joking. Have a

Emil's younger brother Richard died Christmas Eve 1963. The two brothers had a wonderful 13 piece orchestra and you all know they were back up for Elvis Presley. Richard played sax to Emil's piano. His mother's side, the Cozzie's, have wonderful memories from our childhood. Many Cozzie cousins in Chicago and San Diego. We loved him and will miss him. Love, cousins Francy & Norma Jean
