Emma "Lois" Mercier

Emma "Lois" Mercier St. George, UT - Emma "Lois" Mercier, 83, passed on September 6th, 2006, in St. George, Utah, in the presence of her beloved family. Lois was born on February 27, 1923 in Floresville, Texas. She married Robert Joseph Mercier on July 28, 1943, and had two children, Judy Marie Mercier Edwards and Robert Joseph Mercier, Jr. Lois was raised in Texas, but after marrying an Air Force officer her travels offered her the opportunity to live in many unique places, including England, Yellowstone National Park, and remote Alaska. In 1967, Bob and Lois happily settled in Tucson Estates, AZ, with a summer home she and her husband built in Hawley Lake, AZ. Lois was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed celebrating with friends and family. She enjoyed the outdoors and spent many summers fishing in the mountain lakes and camping with her grandchildren. Lois was also a marvelous seamstress, and loved to crochet. Lois looked forward to ending everyday in the swimming pool and sauna at Tucson Estates, where she relaxed and chatted with friends. Lois Mercier is survived by her brother, T.C. Kiger and family of Spring, Texas; her daughter, Judy Edwards, son-in-law Al Edwards and grandchildren, Bill (Elizabeth) and Laura; and her son, Robert Mercier, Jr., daughter-in-law Leanne Mercier and grandchildren, Matthew, Megan and Michaela. Lois was also blessed with meeting her twin great-grandsons, Duncan and Jackson Edwards. Lois Mercier will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Hauchuca, AZ. Private services will be held for the family.
