Emma K. Simpson

Ormond Beach - On October 30, 2023, Emma K. Simpson joined the love of her life, Dean Simpson, and her beloved daughter, Donna Newcomb, in heaven. She was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina to James and Elizabeth.

While attending Pfeiffer College, she met and was swept off her feet, by Dean Simpson and in 1958 they were married. They went on to have three daughters which completed their family. During their 53 year marriage, they moved all over the southeast and finally settled in Ormond Beach, Florida in 1981. For a majority of her life, she was a homemaker and loving stay at home Mama to her three girls. Later in life, she found a job that was made for her as the Manager of Destination Daytona at the Daytona International Speedway. There she spent her days talking to and helping visitors plan and enjoy their vacations.

She was a member of the Moose, Elks, Eagles and the American Legion where she had many friends. She was always the life of the party, and enjoyed traveling, cooking, karaoke, dancing, and spending time with her loved ones. She had a smile that was contagious, a wonderful sense of humor, and definitely knew how to live life to the fullest! She was a classy Southern Belle, always looking her best with full makeup (including false eyelashes), her hair done, and wearing a skirt and high heels, even while cleaning the house.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, Dean Simpson, her loving daughter Donna Newcomb and her protective older brother, Jimmy Kirkman. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Sherry Spencer (Will) and Tonya Simpson, as well as her 3 grandchildren Shannon, TJ and Courtney and 5 great grandchildren, Haley, Avery, Georgia Grace, Levi and Major. She will be deeply missed, though we all take comfort and peace knowing she is now back in Dean's arms again!

A celebration of life will be scheduled in the future, to take place in Ormond Beach, Florida.
