I am so saddened that cancer has claimed yet another kind, good person. Emmett has left a legacy that his loving family can cherish and pass along through the everyday kindness that they share.

Emmett would call bob his brother every day and chat. I loved that about him. It gave me comfort to know families can be close and take the time to just listen to everyday issues. I know our family will miss him very much but we have wonderful memories to cherish. Our hearts n prayers go out to Becky, Richard, Megan and Patrick. Love Bob and Debby

Becky, Richard, Megan & Patrick, our thoughts and prayers are with you all at these hard times. I've know Emmett since I was 5 yrs old, when I was allowed to go down the alley to his house to knock on the door to see his sister, my bestie, Maryann. He would always kid with me that she was allowed out, but he could never look serious enough that I beleived him because of his little smirk. He was a great guy, he surely will be missed by everyone that knew him. Hugs & love to all of you & also, brother Bob & Maryann.

Emmett was a very kind man. I am forever grateful for the endless help he was to me and Gerry while Gerry fought his own battle with cancer. He came and stayed with me for weeks. He spent everyday at the hospital with Gerry, while I continued to work. Some nights he cooked his speciality dishes, Emmett's surprise and Dirty Rice. It was a blessing even if his family gave him a hard time for cooking them. I found it sweet, they were a little horrified. He was self sufficient, making his stay all the more easy. In the years since Gerry's passing, Emmett continued to stay in touch with his monthly phone calls. I will miss those calls, even the ones that woke me up, because he would sometimes forget about the 3 hour time difference. He loved his family. Pat, Megan and Richard you made his last months the best they could be. You should be proud. I know he was of you! Becky, my heart aches for you for I know your pain. With love and gratitude.
