EMMETT LOWRY

Emmett Lowry LAMAR- Emmett Lee Lowry, age 71, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the McLeod Hospice House. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 on Sunday at Belk Funeral Home, LAMAR CHAPEL. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 Sunday in Lamar First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lamar Cemetery. Born April 17, 1939 in Kingstree, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Clyde Lowry and the late Betty Harrell Lowry. Emmett retired from SONOCO and then went back to work, working a total of 34 years for them. He was a Mason and liked watching NASCAR. Mr. Lowry enjoyed working in his yards and spending time with his children and grand-children. He was a member of Lamar First Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Patricia "Patsy" Norris Lowry of Lamar, children: Kaye (Todd) Hamm of Wilmington, NC, John (Chakisse) Lowry of Columbia, Scott (Boni) Lowry of Salisbury, NC, eight grandchildren, and sisters, Betty Lou Reynolds, Mary Watford, Barbara Huney-cutt, Linda Hardee, Thedi Hitchings and Gladys Jordan. The family would like to thank McLeod Hospice for their special care of Mr. Lowry.
