Eric LeBlanc Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 9, 2009.
LeBLANC, Eric James

- 66, of Halifax. There are no words to describe our devastation as we say good-bye to the greatest husband, father, and grampy, brother, and friend who left us Sunday, December 6, 2009, in the VG Site, QEII. Surrounded by his loving family, he passed away after a brief illness. He was a son of the late Emile Joseph and Agnes Mary (Ryan) LeBlanc. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Shirley Marie (Marriott); his children, Pauline (Paul) Lewis, Glen (Stephanie) LeBlanc, and Sharon (Marco) Kelly; grandchildren, Michelle and Alexander Lewis, Taylor, Bryanna and Jocelyn LeBlanc; siblings, Paul (Shirley) LeBlanc, Neil (Carole) LeBlanc, Thomas LeBlanc, Nancy (John) Landry, Father Stephen LeBlanc, S.J., Alan (Rose) LeBlanc, Yvonne (Fraser) Macdonald, Kathy (David) Barss. He was employed with MT&T for 33 years as a training instructor; following retirement he formed his own company and continued to work in the telephone industry for 10 years. Eric was a perfectionist in his trade and was highly regarded by his peers and colleagues for his knowledge and expertise in his field. He was an avid baseball player and sports fan and a well-respected coach in minor baseball and hockey. Eric's sharp wit, sense of humour, big heart and endless generosity has made him many friends along the way. He was loved and admired by the many whose lives he touched. Eric was a devoted family man and felt so much joy spending time with his wife, children and especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply and sadly missed by them. We will carry your love with us always. Visitation will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, on Thursday, December 10, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral will be held in St. Benedict Parish (St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church) on Dutch Village Road in Halifax on Friday, December 11, at 10 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society. E-mail condolences to:
