Eric Vredeveld Obituary
Eric Vredeveld, age 38, of Hudsonville, unexpectedly went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 20, 2022. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kayla Vredeveld; daughters, Ava and Alli; parents, Lon and Kris; siblings, Jill and Nathan Wiechel (Emma, Lauren); Shawn and Christopher Yepsen (Matthew, Charlotte, Andrew); grandmother, Burnetta Vredeveld; mother and father-in-law, Jeff and Mary Howard; sister and brother-in-law, Kellie and Lewis Botsford; grandparents-in-law, Ron and Kay Howard, Marilyn Dooge; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Eric was a faithful employee of Gordon Food Service, but his favorite job was being a dad. He loved playing volleyball, collecting sports cards, and being with friends and family. Funeral services for Eric will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 1:00 P.M. at Alive Ministries, 263 Church St, Jenison, MI 49428. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at VanderLaan Funeral Home, 4917 32nd Ave. Hudsonville, MI 49426, on Friday, August 26, from 5 to 8 P.M. and on Saturday from 12 to 1 P.M. at Alive Ministries. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to John Ball Zoo.

I am still trying to process this loss and will be for a long time. Eric and I were on the same Credit team when I moved back to Grand Rapids for GFS and we sat next to each other for a couple years. I would occasionally go out for lunch with Eric and we always talked about our careers and the different things going on in our personal lives. Eric was incredibly smart and I learned a lot from him while working together.
I'm going to continue praying for your family's strength through the coming years.

I was saddened to learn of Eric's passing. He was such a kind soul and so fun to work with and had a great sense of humor. I'll miss hearing his credit calls over the wall. He had such a way with his customers and sales team, that you could always learn so much just by listening to him on the phone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I was so sad to hear about the death of Eric. Eric was a part of our team at the bank in Byron Center. This was before he had his own family. The one thing that came to mind to me today was how fond Eric was of his parents. He spoke lovingly and with pride of his mom being an art teacher and looked forward to helping his dad at the shoe store.
