Erin Roda

Erin Patricia (O’Connell) Roda of Belchertown, devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and aunt, lost her battle with cancer on October 24.
Erin was born June 3, 1970 in Springfield, the daughter of Maureen (Riley) and the late Brien O’Connell, Jr. and raised in Chicopee. She was a 1988 graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School. She worked for many years in the accounting department of Mercy Hospital.
In the face of her cancer, Erin remained upbeat, positive and stoic, continuing to live life on her own terms while cherishing her time with Scott, her beloved husband of 29 years, and her 2 adored children, daughter Eimile and son Timothy. She treasured her summers with her family at the Cape and on Big Alum Lake in Sturbridge.
Erin’s short life was blessed by her marriage to Scott, whom she met in high school, and was her pillar and strength throughout her cancer battle and her devotion to, and joy in, the accomplishments of Eimile and Timothy.
In addition to her husband and children, Erin leaves her mother, Maureen O'Connell of Ocala, Florida, her in-laws, Thomas and Joanne Roda of Agawam and Sandra and Earl Renaud of Chicopee, her sister, Bridget Perrella and brother-in-law Thomas Dean of Wilbraham, her sister Margaret O’Connell of Bedford, NH, Thomas, her adored father figure who has been a huge part of her life since she was a toddler, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
