ENS Erna Rosella Passed away peacefully at home, into the presence of her Lord, Jesus Christ, and surrounded with love by her family on Monday, June 9, 2008, at the age of 77. Erna was born to John and Helen Block in Mullingar, Saskatchewan - the fourth child and first daughter of seven children. She moved to Yarrow, BC, and then to Vancouver, where she met her husband of almost 53 years, Alvin Ens. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Alvin; children Audrey (Bob) Carroll, Philip (Connie) Ens, and Eric (Mary) Ens; grandchildren Nathan (Heidi) Carroll, Amanda (Scott) Gallant, Joel Carroll, Zoe Ens, Thomas Dodds, Chase Dodds, Rebecca Dodds, Karen (Aaron) Roeck, Stephanie (Mathew) Martens, Tanya Ens, and Jenny Ens; great-grandchildren Gideon Carroll and Avelle Gallant, plus many other extended family members and friends. A public viewing will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 72nd Ave., Surrey. A Celebration of Erna's life will take place on Monday, June 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Fraserview M.B. Church, 11295 Mellis Dr., Richmond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Vancouver Youth for Christ.
