Evelyn Del Debbio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 4, 2010.
Evelyn C. Del Debbio, 85, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away at home on January 4, 2010. Mrs. Del Debbio was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Harry and Alys Mae Ryckman Butts. She was preceded in death by John, her loving husband. Their shared faith led to a lifelong commitment to peace and justice. She continually reached out to those in need, such as when she sponsored a Cambodian refugee family in her home in the 1980’s. She was a supporter of pro-life causes up to her death, helping out in shelters and soup kitchens and with Love, Inc. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Evelyn was also a Benedictine Oblate with the sisters of Mt. Saint Scholastica. She is survived by her children: John (Colleen) Del Debbio of Kansas City, Kansas; Janet (Gary) Donnan of Chicago, Illinois; Marianne Del Debbio of Phoenix, Arizona; Margaret Del Debbio of Easton, Kansas; Paul (Jennifer) Del Debbio of Aurora, Illinois; M. Claire Beasley of Phoenix, Arizona; Jeanne (Marty) Jackson of Liberty, Missouri; her grandchildren: Dominic, Alisa, Christine, Michelle, Thomas, Jennifer, Valerie, Erica, Maggie, Lucca, Jolene, Sarah, Elizabeth, Matthew, Stephen, Olivia, Claire, and Audrey; and also by 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great grandchild. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Heifer International (www.heifer.org ) or Bread for the World (www.bread.org).
