Everrett Friskie

FRISKIE; Everrett. Passed away on Tuesday January 5, 2010 at the age of 68 years, leaving his wife Sharon (Rodgers), sons Eric (heather) of Stony Plain AB, Darren of Niagara Falls and daughter Lisa of Niagara Falls. Everrett was the son of Dorothea Friskie of BC ad the late Gus Friskie. He was the brother of Roberta Claremont and Sarah Milligan of Niagara Falls, Gene Friskie of Niagara Falls and Randy Friskie of BC. He was grandfather to Justin Friskie of Niagara Falls, Crystal and Jessica Friskie of Stony Plain and the late Shawn Friskie. Great-grandchildren include Crystal's, Kristian, Tianna and Evan; Jessica's, Teagan, Jordyn and Shawn's, Little Shawn Jr.

Everrett was born in meadow Lake, Saskatchewan and raised in Niagara Falls. He was a retiree of the St. Catharines General Motors Plant. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who spent most of his time in his boat or tree stand! Many days were spent "gathering the boys" for a fishing trip at the Fort Erie marina or the local woods. Many a tale was told of these sessions. How big was that fish? How big was the buck? The best way to cook venison roast or batter that fish. Those sessions will be missed by those who stopped by to join in the stand-building, bow sighting, discussion of hunting accessories and what hunting boots were the most comfortable. The will all miss those days. "Twilight has come, Home is the fisherman, home from the sea, the hunter, home from the hill.

Resting at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, Victoria Avenue, where the family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel on Saturday January 9, 2010 at 12 noon. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Contributions to the Ronald McDonald House, Toronto, would be appreciated.
