Faye Dinsmore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 18, 2009.
PRESQUE ISLE - Faye Clark Dinsmore, 85, went to be with her Savior Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, after a long battle with Parkinson's and other problems. Faye was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Easton, the daughter of the late Edward L. and Aralda A. (Hayden) Clark. She graduated from Easton High School in 1942 and in September 1948 she graduated from Eastern Maine General Hospital under the Cadet Nurse Program. Faye was employed in the emergency room there and was head clinic nurse for 12 years. She did private duty nursing and spent three summers as camp nurse at Pine Tree Camp on Belgrade Lake. On Nov. 26, 1960, she married Paul Dinsmore, with whom she would share 49 years of marriage. They moved to New York state in 1964 and she served as a hospice volunteer for 12 years, was a director for Wesleyan Women, served on the church board and was secretary for eight years, and was also a Sunday school teacher and church librarian. Faye and Paul moved back to Maine in 1998 where they became members of Presque Isle Wesleyan Church. She dearly loved her family and grandchildren, and the home displayed her love for counted cross-stitch, needlepoint and crewelwork, and she loved working in her flowers. In addition to her husband, Paul of Mars Hill, she is survived by a son, David and his wife, Eunice; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Andrew, all of Rochester, N.Y.; three brothers, Vaughn Clark and Larry Clark, both of Presque Isle, and Carl Clark and his wife, Janet, of Ravenna, Ohio; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Mearl and his wife, Joyce; and two sisters-in-law, Glenda Clark and Erma Clark. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service Monday, Dec. 21, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. with Pastors Larry Palmer and Carlos daCruz officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Pine Tree Cemetery, Easton. Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.

I first knew Faye when Clark's orchestra was playing. Then we swapped stories on visits when she was recovering from peritoneum tuberculosis, and I from pulmonary tuburculosis; mine was service connected (and Mearl and I were in the same town in Italy for awhile). I thought a lot of the whole family. I'm sorry Faye has passed. May she Rest in Peace, and may Peace be with you her survivers.
