Florence Halvorson Obituary
98, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on January 27, 2012. Born September 27, 1913 in Brocket, North Dakota, to James and Ana (Chizek) Liska. She grew up in Brocket area and attended grade school at Newbre in Ramsey County until 7th grade, when they moved to a farm near Tolna, ND., where she finished High School. She attended Valley City State Teachers College and taught in country schools in Forde Township in ND. Later she taught in both Hamar and Tolna Schools. On June 21, 1937 she married Rudolph H. Halvorson. They farmed in the Tolna area and lthen moved to Hamar ND. They lived there until 1963 when they moved to Phoenix. Upon retiring, they traveled throughout the US She is survived by her 5 children: Elaine Carlisle (Bob), Myron (Linda), Loren(Brenda), Warren (Jerry), Gary (Ann). She had 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. And numerous nieces and nephews Services will be held on Friday February 3, 2012 at 1:00PM. Visitation will be at 12:00PM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road Phoenix, Az 85027. In lieu of Flowers the family request donation to Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, Az 85014, St Louis the King Catholic Church, 4331 W. Maryland Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301 or St. Mary's Episcopal Church 6501 N. 35th Ave, Phoenix, 85019.
