Florence V. Sullivan
Florence V. Sullivan, age 93, of Milford, died on Monday, September 13th, 2021. Florence was born in Bridgeport on September 26, 1927, to the late Michael and Veronica Varholy Sopchak. She was the executive secretary to the Chairman of the Board of Perkin Elmer in Wilton, CT for many years. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and enjoyed playing golf. She was on the Board of the Foxwood Association as secretary. She played a special role in all her family's upbringing and thought of her nieces and nephews as her own children, especially her niece Elaine. Florence is survived by her nine nieces and nephews: Elaine Viola, Diane Saracin, Carol Penn, Joan Lore, Michael Sopchak III, John Sopchak, James Sopchak, Peter Mikulak and William Sopchak. She is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews and a great-great nephew and niece, whom she adored, Connor Dudley and Allison Dzuirgot. Florence is predeceased by her brothers, Stephen Sopchak and Michael Sopchak JR., and sisters; Helen Stanziola and Anne Mikulak.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service in THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford on Wednesday, October 6th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Saint John Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Hospice Home Care. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Maud, who took such wonderful care of Florence.
