I can't say I knew Junior well, but I attended church with his parents and have purchased several motorcycles from him. He always seemed to have something good to say and was very generous with his time. He was in the shop every time I visited and made time to talk always.
My condolences. The world is diminished by his loss.

Pop and Junior could build any thing. They built the car that won the 1912 5oo by looking at a picture.
Midget racing was very popular after WW11. Junior and Joe Collins would rebuild a Ford Ferguson engine after every race. A replica of a Dreyer midget with a Ford engine is in The Ford Garage Restaurant on 146th Street.
West Washington Street was a very popular place on a Saturday with a lot of people watching Pop and Junior prepare their Big Car for a race on Sunday. They would fire it up and Pop would drive around the block, to the entertainment of the dogs and kids in the neighborhood.
Pop and Junior had the vision to start Dreyer Honda, still capably managed by Mike after 62 years.
We love you Junior.

Jr and family moved next door when I was maybe 6-7 years old and allowed me to have opportunities that I otherwise would never have had. Jr "Ollie" and Pop taught me a work ethic, mechanical skills, and gave me knowledge that has benefited me throughout my life. I will always be grateful to the Dreyer family. As for some of the stories that Tom Terry referenced, you just had to be there. " Brake later and gas it sooner" you might not win the race, but you will win the respect of your competitors.

Mr.Dreyer “Junior” always made me feel welcome. It was a pleasure to catch him and Mike at the shop to share some adventure stories growing up with Duane and several “Westsliders”. Safe to say Pop, Junior, Duane, and all their Eternal Racing Buddies working on making Godspeed just a little faster.Been an Honor and Privilege to know the Dreyer Family

Motorcycling, racing and Indiana have lost a great one. The Dreyer name is iconic, and Junior was one of the true pioneers of Hoosier motorcycling. His knowledge and wit made for some wonderful stories. Junior’s wisdom and historic perspective are irreplaceable. Just look for West Washington Street in heaven, and I’m sure that you’ll find Junior, Pop and Duane building some fast stuff. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and many friends.
Ride in Peace Junior.

I’m so deeply sorry to learn the passing of Junior. I have a lot of memories being around Junior over the years. He built my first quarter midget race car which I still proudly have. Being at the shop over my early years hanging around with Mike, see Pop and Junior are great memories. I enjoyed going over talking to Pop as he worked on his sidecars. I remember being at the house on 34th street, Junior always had a car in the garage he was building, he never stopped working.
Later years I’d see Junior out for breakfast or dinner at least once a week sometimes more. I swear no matter where we’d go to eat, we’d walk in and there was Junior with his hand in the air waving. He always raised his hand and said hi, we’d have a short chat.
Pop, Junior and Mike are apart of my memories that I will always cherish. Growing up around the shop and being a small part of their inner circle was very special. I learned so many things from the Dreyer family, I’m so glad I got to know them. Junior and Pop were two of the smartest and most skillful men I’ve ever met. Mike showed he inherited ever bit of their knowledge and skills as well.
With God Speed Floyd Jr Dreyer and may you Rest In Peace. You had a good run!

We purchased many Honda motorcycle and 4-wheelers from Junior for our family. Dreyers also felt our home as well. Junior treated everyone especially the ladies with great respect. Even after my husband passed I discussed motorcycles with Junior to get his expert opinion. We will miss him dearly. The Buckwheat, Janice, Kim and McMahon Family. ❤

I bought the 1st Trike Dreyer built. Duane ordered it and Michael's shop built it. Everytime I stopped in Junior would ask how many miles I had on it and frown, saying I should ride it more! It proudly carries a Dreyer license plate frame in Texas now. And those stories he had, oh my, would keep us in stitches. I especially liked the ones about the Unsers. Loved him so.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of JR. He was always an awesome presence in the shop. He gave me advice on many occasions. JR was right on every occasion! Every time I spoke with him, he reminded me of my grandfather, always showing great respect and patience with everyone. I am so sorry for the Dreyer’s loss! JR was a good Christian man, and is with God now! His presence can never be replaced! I will always remember the years that I worked @ Dreyer Motorsports. God Speed JR!!!

I remember going to “Uncle Floyd’s” and hanging out with my cousins. Uncle Floyd had a dog named “dammit” and it was the only time I was allowed to use that word, of course calling for the dog! I also remember the home made ice cream at the reunions, 4th of July and spending the night with Duane! The smell of fiberglass always takes me back! Oh! And the Christmas movies on 8mm! So many great memories to mention them all. Thanks for being my uncle and getting me interested in 2 wheeled vehicles and Engineering if not Purdue (Mike!). Tell aunt Louise I miss her and love ya both! “Big Al”

I remember driving to work at Dreyer Honda one morning and had stopped at a stoplight While waiting for the light to change I was tapped from behind !
As I was getting mad I looked into my rear view mirror to see your smiling face waving at me I think I laughed out loud and when we arrived at work he told me rubbin is racing ! I will never forget that or Junior !!
