Forrest Preston Woodworth III "Woody" Forrest "Woody" Preston Woodworth III, 76, of Batavia passed away peacefully November 19, 2009 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora. He was born December 30, 1932 in Pascoag, RI the son of Forrest Preston and Rosanna (Aubuchon) Woodworth. Woody served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his service time he came to Batavia where he met Jean Wall and wed May 2, 1959 in Batavia, IL. Forest was employed by Illinois Bell for 33 years until his retirement. Woody was also an active member of the Batavia VFW and is Past Commander and recently retired as Quartermaster. He was also a member of the Aurora Moose Lodge #400, Turners Club, and the Fox Valley Anglers Fishing Club. Woody is survived by his children Cynthia (Juan) Villanueva of Gouldsboro, ME and Forrest Woodworth IV of Batavia; a step-daughter Carol (Doug) Wilder; three grandchildren, Heather Woodworth, John (Liz) Wilder, Mark (JoAnne) Wilder; five great-grandchildren Timothy Woodworth, Collin Provost, Matthew Wilder, Morgen Wilder and Marshall Wilder; two sisters Mae (Earl) Bernier, of Mapleville, RI, Jean (Al) Wintermute, of Prineville, OR, and a brother George "Butch" (Sue) Woodworth, of Topsham, ME; a companion and best friend for many years Ruth Boatman. He is preceded in death by his wife Jean. Memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Westminster Presbyterian Church 10 North Edgelawn Drive Aurora, IL. Interment will follow at West Batavia Cemetery in Batavia. A remembrance celebration will be held at the Batavia VFW Post 1197 following the memorial service. Dear Cindy,Forrest, and the immediate family. Althou i only knew him a short time,Woody was very dear to me and one of the most genuine and kind persons i ever met. I was lucky to have met such a great man and make such a wonderful friend. I will miss him very much. My sympathy to all of you. XO

We send our sympathy to Cindy and Forrest and the rest of the family. Uncle Woody was a good man. He was kind to all he knew. I wish we would of kept in touch better with our families through the years. You are in our Prayers.
