FRANCINE I. SIMON

SIMON--Francine Iny died on July 17, 2011. Widow of the recently deceased Abdallah H. Simon, known as Ab, Francine was mother to Jamil and Michael and loving grandmother to Lucy. Married for 58 years, she and Ab had a life long love. They were beloved "Aunty and Uncle" to younger generations of the Sassoon, Simon, and Iny families; their open-hearted hospitality made their home a center for family and friends. Francine will be remembered for her deep love for family, especially children; her unwavering loyalty and many acts of quiet kindness; and her unquenchable thirst for learning. With her optimism, generous spirit and vitality, she made many dear friendships. She was a beloved docent at the Jewish Museum for 15 years. And, she and Ab focused much of their charitable giving on building kindergartens in Tel Aviv through the Tel Aviv Foundation. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 19, at 10am at the Riverside Chapel, 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
