Francis X. Zagarella, 78, of Malden, died on Thursday, December 7 at his residence. Born in Boston on October 17, 1939, he was the son of the late Russell and Irene (Rabinobitz) Zagarella. Mr. Zagarella was a graduate of Boston Latin High School, Class of 1957. He had been a Malden resident for the past 55 years. Mr. Zagarella had retired as the Director of Archives Historical Section at the Superior Court House for Middlesex County in East Cambridge. He had served in the United Sates Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Zagarella has severed on the Planning Board for the City of Malden. Mr. Zagarella is survived by his three daughters; Kristin White, Jennifer Nason and Julie Hinxman, his brother Anthony Zagarella of Wakefield. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church. 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Saturday at 10am. Interment will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul, 18 Canton St., Stoughton, MA 02072. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
