Frank Datro Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 11, 2025.
Brentwood - Frank L. Datro, 78, passed away on March 9, 2025, after a period of failing health. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Jane Datro.

Born in Hartford, CT, in 1946, Frank graduated from Hall High School and later entered the service. In 1973, he married the love of his life, Mary Jane Sumner, in North Attleboro, MA. They moved to Lancaster, OH, following his career path in retail management, eventually settling in Brentwood, NH, where they raised their family for the last 43 years.

Frank was an avid sports fan, especially of his beloved New England Patriots and Ohio State Buckeyes, never missing a game. He cherished watching every game with his grandson by his side. During the summers and fall, he could often be found camping in Northern NH, enjoying the great outdoors.

He leaves behind his favorite daughter, Tara Lynn Datro (Donald Knowles) of North Hampton, NH, and his other favorite daughter, Kristi Rene Datro of Brentwood, NH and his truly favorite grandson, Daniel James Burke II (wife Marta Burke) of Anchorage, Alaska. Frank is also survived by his oldest sister, Loretta McMann of Newington, CT, and will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved dog, Lucy, and cat, Sasha.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane Datro, his sister, Patricia Pierce, and his parents, Rose and Leo Datro.

Frank will be remembered for his quick-witted humor, the kindness he shared with everyone he met, and the deep love he had for his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 12:00-3:00 PM at Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St, Exeter, NH, followed by service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
