Over the past several months, Frank had been on my mind quite often, and I had no recent address. So I finally "googled" his name, and discovered he had died. So while I am writing this many months after his death, I wanted you to know that the "Regina Dunnes" convey my/our sympathy to Marg in particular, as well as Frank's children and siblings. And I am remembering Frank gratefully as the kind, fun, and loving man he was to our family, and to many.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. I remember your dad was always very wonderful to all of us when we would have our practices for the folk mass at your home. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,

To Bernie, Mrs. Haughian and the rest of the family! Please accept our deepest sympathy through this difficult time. Your father was one of the first of our new friends parents that we met when we moved to Ottawa. He was always such a kind, gentle soul that just loved having his kids, their crazy friends, grand children, and family around. You are all so lucky to have had such a wonderful man be part of your life!

Frank Haughian was one of Ottawa's great Irish fathers and grandfathers. He idolized his wife and family and quietly contributed to his church and community. He and Marg opened their home on Denison Avenue to many of us for memorable get-togethers - I remember him singing "You Are My Sunshine", and on St. Patrick's Day, "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling". Frank believed in family and people, and never uttered an unkind word; he didn't observe his faith, he lived it.
"For your smile is a part of the love in your heart and it makes even sunshine more bright" - from When Irish Eyes Are Smiling
