Frank Savage, jr Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 9, 2023.
Frank Norman Savage Jr passed away peacefully on the evening of July 6th, 2023 with his family by his side.

Norman was born on January 26th, 1934 in New Orleans LA. He lived in Centre Alabama and grew up in Montgomery AL. Following graduation from the University of Alabama he served as an officer in the United States Air Force. He retired from a well-respected career at IBM and Docucorp.

Norman raised his family in Marietta, GA for whom he cared for openly and without hesitation. He enjoyed his retirement in Roswell in a house he helped design, build, later adding self-crafted details and woodwork.

Norman is preceded in death by his mother and father, Helen and Frank Savage, his sisters Murial Long and Helen Ward and his beloved cousin Elizabeth Hauser.

Norman is survived by Darnell, his loving wife of 61 years; his daughter Dorothy Helen Savage Stephens (Tim); his son Norman Brock Savage (Schonie Hamilton) and his favorite (and only) grandson Ryland Norman Savage.

A memorial service will be held at Roswell Presbyterian Church, in the historic sanctuary, on July 13th, 2023, at 2:00pm. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cy Mallard Scholarship Fund at Columbia Theological Seminary and sent to Advancement Services Columbia Theological Seminary, 701 S Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA 30030, or The Atlanta Humane Society.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. REV 21:4

I have the fondest memories of spending summers with Norman and Darnell. I will always remember Norman´s kind, nurturing spirit and cherish the memory of sitting at the piano and learning how to play with his gentle guidance. Norman will forever remain in my heart and memories. Sending much love and comfort during this time.

Darnell, Dolly and Brock
We are so sorry to learn about Norman´s passing. He was such a wonderful, kind and supportive man. I guess I have known him for 61 years and have nothing but the best of memories of his kindness and interest in others. He always made me feel special. I will never forget him, his smile or his delightful demeanor. I know you will miss him so much. He was a wonderful human being and an example for us all.
With all our love,
Dan and Margaret
