Frank A. R. Willis October 21, 1928 - November 5, 2017 Frank is deeply missed by his cherished wife of 59 years, Mary Anna and his daughters Julie (Terry) Thies, Beth (Ralph) Plant and Sally (Tom) Stewart. He was a proud Grandad of Emily, Carolyn (Andrew), Rory, Sandra, Jackson, Mallory and Willis. Frank touched many people throughout his life. He made others his priority and contributed much to his community of North Vancouver, St. Catherine's Church and the Grouse Mtn. Tyee Ski Club. During his career as a Professional Engineer he worked for Wright Engineers and held several positions with the APEGBC including President (1988). Frank lived his life with love and a positive spirit. His favourite places to be were at Christina Lake, on the ski slopes and in his workshop. He was a loving husband, Dad, Father-in-law, Grandad, Uncle, neighbour and friend.

Special thanks to Lions Gate Hospital and Amica at Edgemont. A memorial service will be held on Mon. Nov. 13 at 10:30 am at St. Catherine's Church, 1058 Ridgewood Dr., North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation or the SPCA.

Dear Mary Anna, Julie, Beth and Sally

Dad and I were very saddened to hear the news of Frank/your dad. I was so disappointed to be unable to return to Vancouver in time to bring Dad to the service, but please know our thoughts were with you. Frank holds a special place in Dad's heart and memory and he loves to tell stories from their youth. Memories of times spent with your family at the lake in my childhood and on the ski hill with Frank and Dad are very special to me as well. He was a wonderful person and will be missed. Much love from Hank Giegerich and Jill

Dear Mary Anna and the extended Willis family,

On behalf of the Grouse Mountain Tyee Ski Club I want to offer our Board and club members condolences on Frank's passing. Frank's volunteering and commitment to Tyee were legendary and he was a big part of why this little ski club of ours continues to turn out great people and great racers. Moreover, a parent community with volunteerism at its core.

His memory and love of skiing will live on for many years to come in the Tyee Cabin and the slopes of Grouse Mountain.

Sincerely,

Chris Pretty, President
Grouse Mountain Tyee Ski Club

Dear Mary Anna and family;
I have a smile on my face remembering Frank and all the work that he did for the Tyee Ski Club. My teenage years revolved around ski racing and the Club, and Frank's commitment to it allowed me, and others, to thrive there. Cherish your memories...

Dear Mrs. Willis, Julie, Beth and Sally,

My sincere condolences to you all.

Now as I find myself a ski racing parent, I have even more respect and gratitude for the work that Mr Willis did for ski racing.

As a former neighbour, I appreciate today having that extra parent on the block to keep an eye on us and keep us in line.

Dear Mrs. Willis, Julie, Beth, Sally and families,
My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this difficult time. I will always remember Mr. Willis for his great patience, kindness and sense of humour. We had such great family times up Grouse mountain (Tyee ski club), and at summer pool parties/BBQ. I remember all the stories my Mom & Dad would share with us about the great times the adults had on their ski (aka party!) trips and up at Christina Lake. Big hugs to you all ❤

Our sincere condolences to the extended Willis family from the Gibson family. Frank's enthusiasm encouraged many a young Tyee Nancy Greene racer, including myself, to not only enjoy racing but to give back by volunteering as many of us have followed him in doing. Frank was an amazing role model in sport, and professioally. He will be sorely missed, but is warmly remembered by those of us who had the pleasure to know him.
