Fred W. Diehl October 7, 1951 June 15, 2012 Fred W. Diehl, 60, of Curwensville, died on Friday, June 15, 2012, at his home. He was born on Oct. 7, 1951, in Clear-field, a son of the late Frederick C. and Mary (Kephart) Diehl. Fred was a graduate of Mercersburg Academy in 1969 and of Colgate University in 1973. Currently, Fred was the owner of Fred Diehl's of Philipsburg. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield, the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Greenwood Hunting Club and the Pennsylvania Automotive Association. He also served on the Clearfield Area United Way and on the Clearfield Hospital Board of Directors. Fred loved planting trees and was an avid hunter. He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Butler) Diehl whom he wed Sept. 14, 1974, in the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield; two children, Dr. Thad Diehl and his wife, Sue, of Clearfield and Katie Diehl, of Washington, DC; a grandson and granddaughter, Cash Warren and Sonny Grace; three sisters, Betsy Long and her husband, Kenneth, Mary Sue Diehl and Nan Sennett, all of Clearfield; nieces and nephews, Kathy Herman, Christi Powell, Mary Beth Long, Michael Sennett and Joshua Diehl; and his mother-in-law, Beverly Taylor, of Curwensville. A memorial service will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 121 S. Second St, Clearfield, on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 1 p.m. with Rev. William J. Ellis officiating. Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 N.
