Freddy, the closer tomorrow gets the harder it is to believe. You have always been like family to me. I will never forget all the dancing we did, in your house in Faribault and the Mexican dances. Don't forget to drop little signs here and there. What is it you always said? See ya when I see ya, unless you see me first.

Freddy was such a great man! We've shared a lot of great memories and laughs throughout the years. He was always kind and giving. If anyone needed any help he was the first person to jump up and offer anything that he could possibly pitch in with. I wish we had more kind souls like Freddy on this Earth because people like him make life better for everyone. Freddy will be missed by everyone that's ever truly gotten to know how great of a soul he is. Til we meet again...

To the Family of Freddy Madrigal,
I want to extend my deepest, heartfelt condolences on the loss of Freddy. Words truly fall short when trying to express how much he meant to me and how deeply he will be missed.
Freddy was a cherished childhood friend to both me and my twin brother Joe. His kind, caring, and genuinely loving heart left a lasting impression on everyone who had the honor of knowing him. No matter how much time passed between our visits or phone calls, reconnecting with Freddy always felt like we had just spoken the day before. His warmth and presence were timeless.
Freddy and Joe shared many wonderful memories together. I´ll never forget how he bought my grandma´s yellow Plymouth from Joe before he moved to Colorado, and how he made a point to visit Joe while he lived there. Their friendship remained strong across the years and miles.
When Joe passed away suddenly in 1994, Freddy drove out to our home in rural Buffalo Lake, MN to bring me flowers and a wind chime. This was before the days of GPS or Google Maps-we lived in the middle of nowhere! He stopped at the post office in the very small town of Buffalo Lake and ask directions to our home and they shared them with him.
His thoughtfulness and determination to comfort me during one of the hardest times in my life meant the world to me. He shared joyful stories of his visits with Joe, and his compassion helped carry me through my grief.
That was Freddy-always thinking of others, always giving from the heart. I remember another time when my Prius needed a new side mirror. After lunch with a classmate in Mankato, I went to pick up my car and was told part of the bill had already been paid-by Freddy. That quiet act of kindness still touches me to this day.
When I talked to Freddy this past April, we caught up about our families and our grandkids. He spoke with such pride and love. I remember him saying, "Joe and my dad would have been so proud of what your sons have built for themselves. Everybody goes through things in life-that´s when we stop to breathe and understand what it takes to build a life for ourselves and not just us, but those around us." That was the kind of person Freddy was-always reflecting, always lifting others up. He also shared how excited that in May he was going to welcome a new grandchild into the world. His heart was so full of love and hope for the future.
The last message I received from Freddy was on May 6th. He shared a song with me-"Been A Fire (Burning in My Soul)" by Hi-Rez and Jordan Meyer. I think of that now and realize how much that fire, that passion, and that kindness truly lived in him. May we all follow Freddy´s example-his kindness, his caring, and his constant support of others.
Freddy´s spirit, generosity, and heart will never be forgotten. He made this world a better place by simply being in it. I will miss him deeply and carry his memory with me always.
With love and sympathy,
Delcie Flugum-Jensen & Family

I'm so sorry and sadend to hear of the loss of Freddie. I'm from Albert Lea, yet Freddie was one of the first friends I met when I moved to Mankato. He was always so kind to me, always smiling, had such a positive attitude, always willing to help, just an all around good man. He traded me his creeper van for my Toyota years back, I had so much fun cruising in that van. Rest in peace Freddie

Respect, love, and comfort to the Madrigal family. Freddy was a special friend of mine growing up. I am grateful for all the many times Freddy made me laugh and for making me feel accepted when I moved to Albert Lea. He was indeed a Primo in every way. Rest easy, Mijo.
