Fritz DRESSEL Obituary
February 1936 - November 2015
Peacefully, and in the presence of his family, Fritz Dressel passed away at Vancouver General Hospital, on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the age of 79 years. Loving husband of Irma, beloved father of Barbara (Jay) and Robert (Shannon). Dear Opa to Zach, Suzy, Jodie, Adam, Katie and Megan. Survived by brother Karl-Heinz (Pamela), sisters Hannelore and Annemarie (Gerhard) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son, Marcus (2007) sadly missed by daughter-in- law, Kristina (Jim). A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at OAKRIDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 585 West 41st Avenue, Vancouver. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Oakridge Lutheran Church or the German Canadian Benevolent Society, both of which were near to Fritz's heart, or a charity of your choice. Fritzy was bigger than life. My heart smiled when I was around him. Integrity, honesty, and love of family were what he represented. Marcus no doubt was there to take Fritzy home. God Bless your family during this difficult time.

I cherish good memories and thoughts of Onkel Fritz - from Haunsheim, to California, to Vancouver! I love that he marched into Ted Wickman's office and confronted him with "What are your intentions with Brigitte?" Every gal needs a man like that to look after her!! Oma Schmid showed me a big, old bible upstairs in Jettingen (from Fritz?) and said that Fritz was the "Bischoff" of the family. I'm so glad he was at my wedding, as so many times I thought of him as a positive father figure after the passing of my own dad. I rejoice in his faith in Christ our Lord and that we will see each other again soon. Hugs to Tante Mimi, Bärbel and Robert. I pray you find comfort now - and joy always, in every cherished moment you remember with Fritz, husband and father.
