Gail Hausmann Victor

Gail Hausmann Victor, age 95, passed away peacefully in Dallas, Texas on October 24, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Gabe and Hannah Bloch Hausmann. She is survived by her husband Harold Victor of over 67 years, a son, Dr. Ronald Victor (Vicki) of Los Angeles, CA and daughter Sally Victor-Siegel (Bill) and two grandchildren, Jack and Stephanie Siegel, all of Dallas, TX. She is the sister of Gabe Hausmann Jr. (Roan) of New Orleans and sister of the late Theone Hausmann Klein and brother-in-law Albert Klein. Gail was a graduate of Sophie Newcomb College in 1942. During World War II, she worked for the U. S. Government in Censorship. She was a lifelong member of Temple Sinai and volunteered there as well as the Radio for the Blind. Her passion was ballroom dancing. She and Harold spent almost every Wednesday night at the Jefferson Orleans North from 1981 until Katrina in 2005, dancing to the music of Jay Zainey and his orchestra. She and Harold moved to Dallas after Katrina to be with their children and grandchildren. Gail was laid to rest on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Hebrew Rest Cemetery III in New Orleans. She was kind, considerate, soft-spoken and devoted to her family and she will be terribly missed. The family has requested donations be sent to Congregation Temple Sinai, The Alzheimer's Association or a favorite charity. THARP-SONTHEIMER-THARP of Metairie was in charge of arrangements.
