Gary Allan Bennett

Gary Allan Bennett, age 62, of Buffalo, NY passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, as the result of a brief serious illness. Gary was born on June 29, 1961, to Ronald Bennett and Diana Hamill in Rochester, New York. Like his grandfather Allan Beaman, Gary became a carpenter and project manager for Santoro Construction across the Buffalo region under the direction of his boss and good friend, Mike Santoro. Gary loved to make others laugh, visit the Adirondak mountains of his boyhood, and play the bass guitar. However, those things didn't compare to the love he had for his children and the true joy they brought him. Gary is survived by his children Amylee (Ray) Marzella, Amelia, Angelina, Annaliese, and Isaiah Bennett, step-daughter Kaylee (Sam) Castronova and their mother Tracy Bennett; parents Ron Bennett (Anne) and Diana Hamill (Don Turner), brother John Bennett (Kelly), and half-brothers Brian (Lindsey) Bennett (MI), Peter (Dominique) Bennett (KY), Zachary (Meredith) Bennett (KY), and many, many loved extended family members and friends.

The family wishes to recognize the wonderful medical and palliative care team of the Intensive Care Unit at Erie County Medical Center; especially nurses Darlene and Sarah, social workers Samantha and Kate, NP Faith, Dr. Achazkai and Dr. Grimm. We are so grateful for the excellence and compassion we witnessed as you cared for Gary, your daily commitment to keeping us well-informed, and for the care extended to his children. We will never forget you!

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, September 16th at the North Chili United Methodist Church, 2200 Westside Drive, Rochester, NY 14624. Family and Friends will be greeted from 3:30 - 4:00 PM, followed immediately by the service and a reception. Private interment.
