Gary A. Rose, of Sun Lakes, AZ, passed away in his home at the age of 73. He was born on March 30, 1948 to Harold and Vivian Rose, in Canton, IL. They both preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Kay, daughter Jessica (Nate) Smith and son Aaron Rose; sister, Judy Griggs, nephew, Lance (Tammy) Tindall, and niece, Autumn Whittin.
Gary lived in Canton, IL until 1974 when he moved his family to Morton, IL. He served as a volunteer at the Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped. He coached youth sports at the Morton Park District. He was a mentor from childhood to adulthood to a young man via the Big Brother program.
After retiring from a 30 year career at Caterpillar, Gary and his wife moved to Sun Lakes, AZ, where he was a member of Redemption Church in Gilbert, AZ. Gary enjoyed writing short stories and poetry, hiking, and taking trips to Sedona, AZ.
Memorial services will be held at a future date to be determined in Morton, IL. Burial will be at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton, IL.

Gary was one of Canton High School's best athletes. Very likable fellow, as well. May God embrace his everlasting soul and grant his family and many friends peace.
