Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 16, 2024.
George Donald Batman, Jr., aged 72, passed away on July 9, 2024, in Fleetwood, PA. Born on April 21, 1952, in Pottstown, he was the son of the late George D. Batman Sr. and Gloria Malitzski, and stepson to Robert Malitzski.

George was a graduate of Pottsgrove Senior High School class of '72. He dedicated 28 years as a professional keyboardist and theater organist at Sunnybrook Ballroom, enchanting audiences with his musical talents. He was a friendly face at Kemps Market in Pottstown. Beyond his professional career, George was also a spiritual healer and an ardent music enthusiast, who delved deeply into the metaphysical and spiritual realms.

Survived by his former wife Diane Schankweiler; daughters, Kimberly Trotter and Kelly Gibson, wife of Brad Gibson; half-brother, Donald Batman and his wife Casandra their son Jack; nieces Tammy and Becky Rubright; Joe Trotter Jr. former son-in law, and grandchildren, Aaron Batman, Alexis Batman-Lewis, Evan Trotter, Alivia Batman, Maria Trotter, and Brad Gibson Jr. George's life was also enriched by his great-grandchildren, Laveah Thomas, HoneyMae Laracuente, Ashton Hager, Yiannis Laracuente, Maisy Hager, and a Hager baby soon to arrive. He was preceded in death by his mother Gloria Malitzski, father George D. Batman Sr., step-father Robert Malitzki, grandmother Bertha Donner, grandfather Joseph Fizz, step-grandfather Charlie Fizz, sisters Linda Rubright and Karen Gehris, and nephew Anthony Gehris, along with his brother-in-laws Terry Gehris and Ronald Rubright.

In keeping with the family's wishes and the traditional practices of mourning, George's family will hold a private celebration of life to honor his memory. The family extends an invitation to friends and loved ones to join them in thought and prayer during this time of remembrance.

The family has expressed a preference for memorial donations in lieu of flowers, directing such gestures to the restoration of the pipe organ, Ursela, at Sunnybrook. Details for making a memorial contribution will be made available by the family for those who feel moved to do so. It is their hope that through these acts of kindness it will ensure the continuation of the music he so dearly loved for future generations to appreciate.

George's legacy will live on not only through his music but also through the love and memories he shared with his family and friends.

As a young man in High School, I worked with George at Kemp's Market in Lower Pottsgrove. He was a great mentor into customer service and marketing, as well as kind, spirited and fun loving person to know. He was a pleasure to be around and made work fun with his witty comments and pranks! He also had a wonderful family. Unfortunately, we lost touch over the years as life took on on different paths. Wish I could have shared a few more laughs and memories with him. George, may you RIP.

Georgie was my step Brother growing up and half brother to my Baby Brother, Bunky ( Don Batman ). I remember your cook outs at our house and all the visits when my Sisters and I were pretty young. You were such a great guy. You'll truly be missed
