To all that knew him , the 'legend' of his character and uncompromised knowledge will continue to be shared.
To his Eileen, his family, his friends, most sincere condolences.

After reading the many tributes here, it is overwhelming as to the number of people moved by such a great man! The funeral home was a similar reflection today!
Having first met George in 1969 as a 21 year old, he helped me on what would evolve into many Pontiac car projects over the next 5 decades!
Upon learning of our families and our Romanian heritages, George took me under his wing and treated me like family.
To many of us, he was the epitome of Pontiac performance.
Up on George's learning of the Pontiac Transportation Museum in Pontiac, Michigan, George attended the first open house and contributed a wealth of knowledge to the project.
Having known George through such a colorful time in automotive history would be an understatement, George was the history! Of note; The Pontiac Tunnel Port cylinder head project was implemented by him.
George's legacy will live on at the Pontiac Transportation Museum through his accomplishments and spirit.
My deepest condolences to the Delorean family.
To my Romanian brother, George; Dumnazau suete - God Rest your Soul Memory Eternal

I first met George approximately 52 years ago when my brother (Jerry, who really admired George and his superior knowledge of cars) asked him to tune-up my car, a Chevy Malibu. He subsequently worked on a couple of Corvettes I had after the Malibu. When I drove my cars after his tune-ups, they just purred. You always knew they were in the best of hands. My brother died in 1996 and he looked up to George so much, I'm hoping he got the chance to welcome George home. God Bless you, George. You've earned your eternal rest.

My sincere condolences. I have known George since buying my Bobcat kit from him in 1970 at his shop on Hilton. Periodically I'd send friends to have their Pontiac's worked on by George at his shop in Troy. Through the years I would see George when I attended the Thursday night gatherings. In the more resent years I'd go to the Woodward Warehouse on Saturday's. He will be greatly missed.

Had a chance to first meet George at the Woodward Warehose. It was his favorite hangout the last few years. He had a lot of knowledge about what made a car go fast especially Pontiacs. He had worked on my 68 Jim Wangers Firebird many years ago and was able to share some valuable knowledge with me on the car.
I will miss seeing him at the Warehouse.

George was kind and gentle guy. I sincerely enjoyed being around him for the years I had my office at the Woodward Warehouse.
He was a fierce competitor on the pool table, we enjoyed many games.
He really did enjoy the crew for their Saturday coffee and story sessions. He got me right in, introduced me to the guys, and made me feel welcome.
When I moved to Florida, I did miss the guy. I’m sorry that I did not get back in time to tell him in person and say good-bye.

Dear Leslie an Stephen, my heartfelt sympathy to you both for the loss of your Father George. The old Detroit neighborhood will be a quieter place now as the sounds of his souped up engines fade forever more. He was one of my special friends going way back to the fabulous 50's. Sleep well old friend. X0

George has been one of my closest friends for many years. His knowledge, workmanship, and mechanical ability was top notch. we shared pretty much the same spiritual ideas, so I'm sure we will meet again one day, but I'd like to put it off as long as possible George!
