All of my thoughts and prayers go to the Heiland Family. I have known them since birth. George was the best man for my parents wedding and my Godparents. I grew up with their kids, went to FSU together and then we raised children together. I can't even count the number of times we spent boating and celebrating various birthdays, events or just plain having a good time. Just last year George and Joanne hosted a surprise birthday for my mom. Life brings us many changes but with that we get to keep great memories. I was always in awe of how inviting they were to all. George opened his house for anyone and always had a smile and a joke to tell. I will forever remember him with his touristy shirts and silly smile that always warmed my heart. For all to remember...Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. May the days ahead give all of you strength and courage.

George
I miss the great times, Hartmut, you and I shared. Since none of us worked, we had lots of time. And we loved to have fun and never hesitated to share an opinion. Regardless of the social or political problem, we had a brilliant solution. And there was no politician that escaped our scrutiny.
I always marveled at your ability to repair and build just about anything. You had a tool for every job and we could always rely on you to come up with an innovative fix.
Joanne and you were a magnet. You welcomed everyone and everyone was glad to be with you. When Roberta and I arrived on Tremont Street, you were one of the first to say hello and welcome us to Siesta Key.
From the nightly Tremont street get togethers to Heiland family and friend meetings, your house was the center of activity. You had more friends that anyone I knew. And youll be very missed.

Old and treasured memories are the best to get us through, some of mine are: The sand bar in Lemon Bay on a trip to Cabbage Key, boat brigade led by non other than our fearless leader, fifty pair of socks decorating "someones" office and I will add that this was not taken with the humor intended, Red Right Return only works in one direction (this one is on Paul Stach) E does NOT mean eternal supply (that one on Lewie Archibald) T.P.ing a desk on a birthday and blaming it on a fellow employee and the HUGE rubber band from his desk chair to the front of the desk that really got him going. So many happy times to celebrate a really good person. May the angels bring you swiftly home George and may you find your peace.
Love always
Lynn

I remember your family when George was in the Jaycees with me and we lived on Sandy Beach. George was an absolute gentleman, a bright man, with a good sense of humor and a love of family. May he rest in peace

My dad and George were life-long friends. There isn't a childhood memory that doesn't involve George and Joanne. They were so welcoming to our family no matter if it were a quick stop after a day of boating or a dip in the pool. We will miss you George. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Joanne, Susan, Wendy and David and your families. ~The McCords.
