George Kerr Obituary

George A. "Joe" Kerr, 71, of Moline, died on Monday, May 9, 2005, at home.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, where a memorial service will be held on Friday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m.
George Kerr was born February 8, 1934, to Thomas and Glova (Bell) Kerr in Ashland, Ohio. He married Irene A. Kramer on January 29, 1955, in Norwalk, Ohio.
He served in the United States Army.
He was the owner and founder of EBE Technologies in East Moline, Illinois, for 32 years, retiring in 2004.
Joe enjoyed Antique Cars and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Mississippi Valley Region. He also enjoyed flying and was a licenced pilot and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilot's Association.
He and Irene raised eight foster children and they were hosts for eight Foreign Exchange Students.
Memorials may be made to Pathway Hospice at Trinity or Mayo Clinic Cancer Research.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Kerr, of Moline; two daughters, Joann (Robert) Carpenter, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Rita (Leonard) Hafner, of Moline; one son, Larry (René) Kerr, of Moline; sisters, Harriet Loesch, Clermont Fla., Sarah Webb, Clermont, Fla., and Barbara Kirkbride, Ashland Ohio; a brother, Tom Kerr, of Cleveland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his mother and father, brothers, John and Larry, and a sister, Mary Kerr.
