George "Jeep" Plate

George "Jeep" Plate, 73, of Rock Falls, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Regency Care of Sterling. Jeep was born June 30, 1947 in Chicago, the son of George Frank Plate and Susan Plate. He married Bridget Burren on December 28, 2001 in Sterling. Jeep was employed as an iron worker in the Chicagoland area for many years. A car enthusiast, he enjoyed working on cars and was an excellent handyman. He will also be remembered as a fun-loving uncle. Survivors include his wife, Bridget; one daughter, Jennifer (Mitch Fadel) Reason of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Karen (Reverend Bill) Steger of Bolingbrook, and Susan Worthington of Riverside, IL; one brother, Phillip W. Plate of Colorado; three nieces, Michelle (Eric) Mandle of Bolingbrook, Elizabeth (Eric) Kimble of Plainfield, and Laurel (Josh) Anderson of Riverside; four great nieces; and one great nephew. Jeep was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation rites will be accorded. Interment will be at Ridgewood Memorial Park in Des Plaines at a later date.
