George Traynoff Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 23, 2025.
George Traynoff went to be with God on 12/22/24 at 6:15 am at UM Medical Center in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born to Ted and Chrisanti (Novachis) Traynoff on May 5, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan.

George was a 1968 graduate of Stevenson High School in Livonia, Michigan. After graduation, he served our country for 4 years during the Vietnam War as an E4 in the United States Navy aboard the USS Guam as an AO3. George was a brilliant inventor, and used his skills throughout his career, which took him to North Carolina for over 20 years. He eventually opened his own business, manufacturing custom vascular circulating pump systems he developed for the medical industry. He loved North Carolina, but upon retirement he moved back north to Delta, Ohio to be closer to family.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and other activities. He especially loved spending time with his family and loved going to his grandson's soccer games and teaching him about electricity and how to build his own radio. He adored dogs, especially Golden Retrievers, and liked to watch old western movies and listen to bluegrass music. He enjoyed a good steak, biscuits and gravy, Mexican food, Chinese buffets, and Jiggs dinners. He also liked to strike up conversations about politics with pretty much anybody. George donated monthly to many charity organizations, especially those supporting veterans.

George is preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by two sons, Bryon (Marcy) Traynoff and Brad (Krystal) Traynoff; grandson, Marshall (Bryon & Marcy) Traynoff; brothers, Bill Traynoff, Chris (Judy) Traynoff, and Steve Traynoff; former wife, Karen Taylor.

George wished to forgo a traditional funeral ceremony. Instead, a celebration of life to honor his memory will be held at the end of May.
