Gerald E. Goodblood

SHAWNEE, KS - Gerald E. Goodblood, age 86, died peacefully on Jan 17, 2015 in Shawnee, KS. Gerry was born Nov 26, 1928 in Portage, ME to Marshall Goodblood and Emily (Pinette) Goodblood. After serving in the US Air Force during the Korean War, Gerry graduated from Indiana Tech, and subsequently spent over 30 years as a highly-respected Aeronautical Engineer for the FAA. Gerry is survived by his wife of 49 years, JoAnna Goodblood; Children: Janet Jones and husband, Gareth, of Atlanta, GA, Michael Green of Chicago, IL, and Susan Green of Kansas City, MO; Grandchildren: Christina Cornier Mertz and Antonio Cornier of Chicago, IL; Siblings: Shirley Dancer of Wolcott, CT, Arthur Goodblood of Fairland, IN, Gail Goodblood of Woodland, ME, and Judy Huntley of Eagle Lake, ME. He was preceded in death by siblings Marion Michaud, Cleveland Goodblood, and Reginald Goodblood. Gerry loved spending time laughing with family and friends. He was an avid golfer, a pilot, and a flight instructor. He enjoyed carpentry and refurbishing antiques, especially clocks. Gerry loved traditional Country Western music, with Hank Williams and Hank Snow as favorites. A memorial service is scheduled for January 23 at 11:00 am at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1014 West 39th Street, Kansas City, MO 64111.
