Gerald C. Koenig, 91, formerly of Oakway Dr., Toledo, passed away quietly evening of Monday, July 15, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, OH. He was born to George and Minnie (Roujet) Koenig.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine J. (Dipman) Koenig. He is survived by his son, Robert A. (Bettie A.) Koenig; grandchildren, Ben Jachimiak, Stefanie (Jeff) Mabrey, and great-granddaughters, Hannah and Lauren Jachimiak.

After graduating from Macomber High School, Jerry worked for 30 years as a tool and die maker at Doehler Jarvis. He was a die maker at Doehler Jarvis. He was a member of Fort Industry Masonic Lodge # 144 and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. He was also one of the original members of the Church of the Cross United Methodist. Jerry was a former member of the Toledo Sailing Club. Jerry loved to travel, having visited all 50 states.

Later in life, he married the late Mildred Krause. Her family was of great comfort to him in his declining years. Surviving family members of Mildred; son, Donald (Patricia) Krause; daughter, Diane (Mike) Begg; grandchildren, Jeff Krause (and fiancée, Nina Nail), Tricia (Gabe) Cardenas, Steve (Tisha) Krause, Kristin Begg, Brian Begg, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Viewing and Funeral Services will be held at Church of The Cross United Methodist at 1806 Cass Rd. (Cass and Eastgate roads), on Monday, July 22, 2013, beginning with visitation at 1:00 p.m., and funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private at Toledo Memorial Park.

Gerald's son, Robert, would also like to thank Walter Funeral Home (4653 Glendale Avenue) for all of the wonderful help in making these final arrangements for his father.
