Gertrude Eva Stalford

Gertrude Eva Moody Stalford age 91 of Norman, Oklahoma died on July 30, 2011 in Norman, Oklahoma.
Gertrude was born on June 20, 1920 northwest of Stroud in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Jackson Wally Moody and Naoma "Oma" Caudill Moody, the granddaughter of Jonathan Moody and Mary Jane Barnett Moody, and John Breckinridge Caudill and Mary Ann "Polly" Smith Caudill.
She lived in Avery, Oklahoma from May 1938 until November 2000 when she moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma. She moved to Norman, Oklahoma in February 2010 where she resided until her death.
Her family moved from Jenkins, Missouri to north of Stroud, Oklahoma where she graduated from Baker school in 1937. In the fall of 1937 she attended Kendrick High school. During that same year while attending a church revival she met the love of her life. She was married on May 25, 1938 to George Washington Stalford in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The two were blessed with four children. From 1938 to 1954 she was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children. In 1954 she began working as a housekeeper in Cushing, Oklahoma until she retired in 1975. She loved quilting, sewing, crocheting, doll making, farming, gardening, cooking, baking, canning, and singing. She attended church at the First Church of God in Stroud, Oklahoma where she taught Sunday school and sung and played the organ. She was best known for the love and caring she showed toward everyone she met, especially her family.
Immediate survivors: Her sister Rebecca Effie Moody Frazekas Denton of Florida , and brother John Jonathan Moody of Wyoming , her daughter Devina Naomi Stowers Roberts of Moore, sons John Austin David Stalford of Avery , Harold Lenn Stalford of Norman, and daughter Sandra Kay Austin of Lisbon, Connecticut; 15 grandchildren Diana,Steven,Mark,Robbie ,Shelly, Angela, Brian, Valentine, George Lenn, Terry, Michael, Sophia,Elisa,Rhonda, and Deborah; 31 great grandchildren Natalie, Stephen, Andrew, Mark Jr., Philip, Chelsea, Chase, Abigale, Levy, Ethan, Brently, Shannel, Tyler, Sydney, Nicholas, Samantha, Alexis, Christina, Lauren, Elisabeth, James, Kathleen, Alexander, Andrew, Spencer, Sophia, Gabriella, Crystal, Christopher, Deborah and James; and 4 great-great-grandchildren Bianka, Ethan , Anthony and Elizabeth.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents Jackson Wally Logan Moody and Naoma "Oma" Caudill Moody, her brothers Emal Moody and Leviston "Lee" Moody, and her husband George Washington Stalford (70 years marriage).
