Gil was my wonderful Neighbor on Court Street for over 35 years. I just learned of his passing and will miss him greatly. He was the real deal in his profession, always a straight shooter. More importantly he was a very nice and kind person who liked people.

After knowing Gil for many years I can say he was a guy from a better era with old style values. When I heard he passed my first thought was that he was good guy and anyone who got to know him, liked him. They knew he was a straight shooter who would tell it as he saw it. He actually had great advice on just about any subject including the Brooklyn Dodgers and my dad would have agreed with him completely.
Any of his insurance clients could call him for advice an anything and he would spend as long as it took on the phone with them. They knew they were getting good advice and if it was insurance advice, it would be accurate and what was best for them.
If you knew Gil, you liked him and everyone did. I am glad he is with Blossom again.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Gil's passing as Alan as well. He was very special to me and I will miss his politics and warmth. He probably is filling in your mom on all the political things he used to catch up on- true he is at peace. He left the business in the best hands- he will always be in my prayers.

It saddens me to realize I will not be able to have another of our monthly breakfasts with Gil, my friend of 25 years.
Gil was one of the most staunchly loyal individuals a person could be lucky enough to call "friend."
I will always think of him as one of the most honest, forthright, fair and courageous people whom I was lucky enough to know.
Rest in peace, Gil, and know that you are, and will be, missed.

Gil was a great man, a credit to our American values. He was a rare no nonsense guy, a Eastwood-esk guy to me.....I know I will miss him and so will his children, I think he would have said this line to himself at his own funeral.
It's not about you. It's about them.

I was very sad to hear of Gil's passing. Though I only knew him in his later years, I could see how much he loved his children and I admired his determination to stay independent.
My heart goes out to you Ellen and to your family.

I remember the time Gil was in the hospital (age 85?), and the guy in the bed next to him mouthed off to him. Gil broke his nose. He instantly became my idol.
He was tall and handsome, had a big personality that filled a room, and his fortitude was amazing.
Dearest Ellen and family, I am so sorry for your loss. He lives on and can always be found in the beautiful hearts, faces, and strength of his cherished family.
Much love, Bernadette

Dear Dad-
My father, my friend, my mentor-
words can not express the love I have for you and always will. You are now set free to reunite with mom and though losing you is heartbreaking, I know that is what you really wanted-- and so you ultimately and peacefully had your wish fulfilled. Love you daddy with all my heart and will carry on everything you taught me in business and personally in your honor and memory. Give mom my love and bring her some flowers- Eternally, you daughter, Ellen
