September 30, 1931 - January 11, 2013 Palumbo, Giuseppe, 81, of Montreal, Canada, beloved husband of Anna (Chianetta) Palumbo, died peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Verdun Manoir. He was born on September 30, 1931, in Favara, Sicily, Italy the son of the late Giuseppe and Angela (Varisano) Palumbo. At 16 he left home and worked in construction for 8 years in France then Germany helping in the rebuilding after WW II. After that time, he moved to Toronto, Ontario and continued working in construction. Giuseppe settled in Montreal. First, he worked as Construction Foreman in building Place Bonaventure and Place Ville Marie then he commenced working for Stelco providing 27 years of service.

A kind, caring, and devoted husband, father, grandfather (Nonno), he will be greatly missed. Along with his wife of over 53 years, Anna, he leaves two daughters and one son, Angela Palumbo and her two children, Nicholas and Sophie Roy, of Montreal, Rosaria Palumbo of Longueil and Giuseppe Palumbo and his wife, Marta Urillo, of Southington, CT and their three children, Isabelle, Gianfranco, and Anthony Palumbo. He is predeceased by his brother, Carmelo Palumbo of France. He leaves his half sister Anna Biamonte, and half brother Salvatore Biamonte, both of Favara, Italy.

Funeral services are January 15, 2013 at 9:00 AM, at the Centre Funeraire, Cote Des Neige, in Montreal which also has care of the arrangements. Mass to be held at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Cote des Neige Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
