Glenn Christopher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 4, 2002.
Glenn Daniel Christopher 7/11/1916 to 6/2/2002 Glenn Daniel (``Chris'') Christopher began his last great adventure peacefully in the presence of loved ones Sunday, June 2, 2002 at his home in Burnsville. Chris was a man of many passions. He loved building and had spent his life in heavy construction in Saudi Arabia, Panama, Egypt, Minnesota and throughout the entire United States. He was the innovator of the ``flying form'' and designed many of the Embassy Suites atriums. He loved to travel and had taken 3 trips around the world by the age of 25. The National Geographic and numerous other publications had written articles about his travels and building expertise. He loved flowers, gardening and spent much of his leisure time in his flower beds. Chris genuinely loved life and people. He would try anything, do anything, and help anyone in need. He never said an unkind word about anyone and loved to laugh, tell stories and have a ``drink'' with his friends. He believed everything started with a ``dream'' and was still dreaming about his next trip and his next project up until the day he departed. He gave unconditional love to all members of his family and was an enthusiastic, cheerful, loving man who shared his zest for life with everyone he met. He truly was ``one of a kind.'' He is survived by his wife, Joan of Burnsville; sister, Maxine Carlson-King of Minneapolis; sons, Jeff Christopher of Coon Rapids, Jon Christopher and his wife Kara of Savage; daughters, Susan Christopher of Aitkin, Jennifer and husband Randy Loebrick of Apple Valley, Jill and husband Scott Rinn of Lewiston; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, hundreds of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, and his buddy, Champ. Services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, June 5 at 11:00 am at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 7510 Palomino Drive, Apple Valley, MN 55124. (952) 454-6927. Chris loved flowers, and would be honored if flowers were planted in your own yards in memory of him. Be sure to include some white petunias so they can be seen at night! Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
