Glenwood Marburger Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 17, 2012.
Glenwood Ed Marburger was born July 4, 1943. He went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on December 16th, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Dorothy Marburger. He is survived by his wife, Sue Marburger, daughters, Cristi Horton and husband Dwain; Julie Byrd and husband, Joe; step-daughter, Melissa Engleman; granddaughters, Brooklyn Cmerek, Tesla Byrd, Aegis Shanklin, Hayley Horton, Eryl Shanklin, Kaycee Horton, and Kimberly Horton, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Glenwood loved life and lived it to the max. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to take care of his garden, pecan trees, and flowers. He loved cutting firewood and building a good fire. He loved his family friends and people in general. He had special place in his heart for his granddaughters and loved teaching them and enlightening them with his knowledge of wildlife and the outdoors. He lit up the room with his beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes. If you were having a bad day he could always make it better. He was a very loving husband, father, stepfather, grandpa, and friend and his enthusiasm for life will be sorely missed by many. Memorial services are being held on December 19th, 2012 at 10am a the First Methodist Church in Ballinger, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Hunter Education and Youth Hunting Program.

This was a great man. He was my neighbor. I remember hearing his 4-wheeler coming down the river, knowing he was going to check his traps or bring my dad something from the river. I am sorry that I will not be able to make the funeral. Know that I am thinking of all of you. He will be missed.
