Grace Powell Obituary
The light and beauty of Grace was a gift from God on August 23, 1999 in Erie, PA. Grace was a beautiful girl with a beautiful smile. She enjoyed spreading sunshine for the first 5 years of her life in Erie Pennsylvania where she was a member of St. George Catholic Church and attended Mercy Center of the Arts.
Upon moving with her loving family to Jensen Beach Florida in 2004, she attended St. Joseph Catholic School and belonged to the Parish family. Gracie loved all kinds of art and was a gifted artist from a very young age. Grace also attended Felix A. Williams Elementary School where she made lifelong friends that brought her joy every day. When Gracie entered Stuart Middle School she continued to shine like the star she was. She was a straight A student, a member of NJHS, Builders Club, Color Guard, Advanced Chorus, and Drama. Gracie developed many more wonderful lasting and loving friendships at SMS and StarStruck Performing Arts Center where she first studied drama and as much dance as possible.
Grace was the most incredible daughter and sister. She brought so much joy to her family and everyone she touched every single day. Her sparkling eyes and beautiful smile were signs of her love, compassion, and ability to find the good and beauty in all things.
Gracie, in the most loving and unselfish way, passed peacefully in the arms of her parents while all those who knew her prayed for her. The world is a better place because of our Gracie, the gift God entrusted us to care for these past 14 years.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00PM and 6:00 to 8:00PM at Aycock Funeral Home in Jensen Beach, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013, 10:00AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach, FL.
Arrangements are entrusted to Aycock Funeral Home, Jensen Beach, FL.

It's been more than 7 years, and I think about Grace all the time. We were friends in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. She once made up a secret code that we would use to pass notes to each other. I loved doing art projects with her. She liked the book "The Girl Who Could Fly" and recommended it to me. Her wonderful mother once picked me up from school when I was feeling ill and my own mother could not leave work. I hope her family is doing well. I hope Vivian is doing well in school and on her way to a good college!

Grace I just wanted to say how much we all miss you and we all love you and your never forgotten. I enjoyed showing talent for you at the talent show at S.M.S. Mrs. Flood put a wonderful, excellent talent show together just for you this is the second year she has put a talent show on for you and we all know that that's what you love TALENT!!!! Grace Ann Powell I love you will all my heart and I wish you were still here. We live with you Grace always and forever. Just one more thing you have a wonder, caring, and loving family. There hasn't been a day when I haven't thought about Grace. I am so sad that I never met her, but I talk to her a lot in my prayers. I can hear her saying, "I'm still here. I'm watching over all of you." I am always thinking of you.

Every day I think about Grace. I never took the chance to know her. I would see in her in the hallways at school and sometimes she would smile at me. I was devastated when I heard the news in school. I know that yesterday was her fourteenth birthday. Your family will always be in my prayers.

My one and only regret in life was not getting to know Grace I would always see her in the school hallways and I would think to myself wow she is always smiling all the time. I always thought we would be good friends but since we didn't have any classes together I never got to get to know her I thought to myself we are probably going to have classes together next year and be good friends. When I heard the news I was completed devastated I didn't know what to think I was was being lot emotional at the time you guys are in my prayers every night before I go to sleep and I know she is looking down on us being our guardian angel. <3333

Grace was such a beautiful, fun, and loving friend. She was such an amazing friend who I could go to for anything. It was such a gift getting to dance with her at StarStruck on Tuesdays at Jazz. We continue to recall memories with Grace. Meredith recounts Grace being a mentor and friend in those mixed school classes as well as Art class and even a season of YMCA volleyball.
