I was shocked and surprised when I read in last weeks bulletin the early mass was offered for Dr. Graham Mathews. He was my doctor for more than 25 years. When he retired I knew I was going to miss him. He also said he planed to do some traveling. He mentioned he first trip was going to Spain and I told him we were going to Spain and Portugal. I never knew he was a catholic and was a member of Saint Michael's. Rest in piece Dr. Mathews .Thank you for all the years of compassion care.

I would like to honor the memory of my Uncle, Dr. Graham B Matthews, the youngest brother of my Father, who made a lasting impact on my life with his remarkable kindness, captivating smile, infectious laugh, outstanding sense of humour, unwavering integrity, deep faith, remarkable athleticism, and strong family values.
Through his perseverance and commitment in his youth, he achieved his goal of becoming a Doctor, having independently funded his education, a testament to his numerous accomplishments, someone I have always admired for the qualities he possessed within his character.
I always valued my conversations with my Uncle Graham and will forever be grateful for his support when I managed and advocated my Father's health with Alzheimer's.
His considerate approach, care, love, and support will always be remembered.
The photo attached is of me sitting on my Father´s lap, my Uncle Graham is sitting behind my Father. Across from my Father is my Aunt Marjorie and beside her my Uncle Grant. I am forever blessed for my experiences and memories.

I'll always remember uncle Graham as the adult with the biggest grin in every photo, the most youthful energy, and the best example of success and leadership. His voice always knew when to be heard. When everyone else was at a loss, Graham was the calm comfort, and when our hearts were lifted, he brought us all together in laughter and celebration. To you, Graham!

Dr.Matthews was one in a million. He was fun to work and easy to work with as long as you got the job done. He appreciated anything you did for him and he would show you or let you know. He took care of my whole family and treated us like family. I kept in touch with him after he retired to check on him and Susan at least once a month. He will truly be missed.

May his memory be eternal. I met Graham several years ago after he married Susan, my cousin. He was such a friendly man. My wife and I enjoyed his presence and friendly personality. It was an honor to know him.

I first met Graham when he began dating my cousin Donna-so dearly missed by us all. Ten years my senior, he made an immediate impression. I remember sitting spellbound, soaking in his sharp wit and quiet wisdom, that unmistakable twinkle in his eye, and the wry smile that always hovered, ready to coax a chuckle from anyone nearby.
When Sean and Chris arrived, I was thrilled to wrestle and play with those two dynamos-so different, yet perfectly complementary. Graham´s pride in his boys shone brighter than anything else; watching them grow into the men they are today brought him boundless joy, especially as they embark on new adventures with their own families.
Graham´s influence on me was so profound that, when my son was born, there was only one name that felt right-Graham. I´ll never forget the moment big Graham met little Graham; he was so delighted he scarcely put the little guy down.
Sean and Chris, I know how deeply you´ll miss your dad. Time softens grief, but it never erases it completely. Take comfort in the memories you shared and in the knowledge that his life-though shorter than we all wished-was full. Graham touched countless people, and his legacy of humor, kindness, and quiet strength will live on in everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

As a six year old boy, brand new to Winnipeg and my new dad´s family, Uncle Graham was my favourite. He had an infectious laugh, and an unwavering intention to use it often. He and Aunt Donna, and later, cousins Sean and Chris, had a seemingly constant banter on the go, and I always laughed more when they were around, piqued at what the next quip would be.
But he wasn´t all jokes and guffaws. He did serious work most of the time, looking after himself and his many patients. As a family, we would all look to him for clarity whenever someone had a more serious issue at hand. His expertise was a massive comfort during, and following the sudden and early passing of my mother.
For his perfect balance of severity and hedonism, I´ll always remember Uncle Graham.

I had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Matthews over the past 10 years mostly in a professional setting, but also as the father of a good friend. I remember when he went up to DJ at Sean and Jenn's wedding; I was so surprised but I loved it (and he killed it too!!!). You didn't have to know him long to know what a great man he was. My condolences to his family and I hope the joy of remembering the good times and the legacy of love he left will help ease the sharpness of the pain of grief.
All my love,
Mary Ibarra
