Gregg Kenyon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 5, 2024.
Gregg Richard Kenyon "Reech", 59, of Hudson, passed away in the early hours of January 23rd, 2024 with his children by his side, after a sudden decline in his health.
Born on January 4th, 1965 to Donald and Mary Ann Kenyon, Reech was a lifelong resident of Hudson, MA. He is survived by his children Thomas, Sarah, and Thomas's wife Kayla, as well as his mother Mary Ann. He was the beloved brother of his siblings: Gayle and her husband David, Scott and his wife Janice, and Glen and his wife Linda. He will be missed dearly by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Reech spent his childhood in Hudson, playing hockey and football and taking family vacations to Maine. After graduating from Hudson High School in 1983, Reech moved to Bakersfield, California, where he spent a few years living and working in Sequoia National Park. His love for California started early and continued through his life. He returned home to Hudson, where he worked for Hudson Light and Power for over 30 years. He was a well-known and loved member of "The greatest town in the Commonwealth," as he liked to call it. He would visit California yearly with his children, after his parents retired to Palm Desert, bringing them on adventures (and to all the amusement parks) along the west coast. Reech's working years were spent with his kids, on the golf courses, playing his guitars, and dinners out in town. He loved to cook, especially for Sunday Football with his cousins. He rarely missed Jeopardy questions and followed the Bruins and Patriots passionately. He had a great love for music and concerts and was sure to pass that love to his kids. After an early retirement, Reech headed back to California, while making sure to still call Hudson home. He spent a few good years as a member of the Men's Club at "The Resorter'' – golfing, hiking and relaxing by the pool, truly enjoying retired life. He returned to Hudson for good in 2022. He spent his final years enjoying time and good food with his kids, his new daughter-in-law, and the rest of his family.

Reech was generous, kind, and loyal. He could be strong-willed and stubborn at times, but he also had a tremendous heart and an excellent sense of humor. He was the greatest father. He will be remembered for all the love he shared with his friends and family. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for everyone in his life. He will be missed immensely.

In true Reech fashion, there will be no services. A celebration of life will occur with details to be determined.

Sarah and Tommy, Please accept our heartfelt sympathy for your loss. The depth and power of the emotions released when a family loses such an important person are immeasurable, especially a dad. How fortunate you are to have such wonderful memories of this admirable and loving human being. How fortunate you are to just know him and have him for your father.... You just know how much he was loved. Life is a precious thing. May Gregg rest in peace and be watching over you both always. Hugs, love and support, Karen and Vin

Gregg was a regular at our poker games. He would make his famous pork loins on the grill, crack a few beers with us, and make all of our games memorable. It was a true pleasure having known him, with his cooking skills, poker prowess, and wonderful sense of humor. Will be greatly missed.
